Most of us are waking this morning to find out many of the top defenders who could have upgraded the Raiders at key positions are gone before the sun came up. That includes the top defensive player on the board, CJ Mosley who at the end of day one was said to be deciding between staying in Baltimore or signing with the Jets.
The rumor was that Mosley wanted to stay with the Ravens so it would take a monster deal to pry him away. And boy did he ever get one.
Sources: Former #Ravens LB CJ Mosley is expected to sign with the #Jets on a massive 5-year, $85M deal worth $51M guaranteed. That’s $17M per year. It took a lot to leave Baltimore.

Mosley gets $17 million per season on a 5-year deal with the Jets incuding $51 million guaranteed. Pretty clear those were the magic numbers to get him to pack up and head for the Meadowlands.
His teammate and top pass rusher still left, Za’Darius Smith signed on with the Packers.
The #Packers are expected to bring in a huge addition, bringing in former #Ravens edge rusher Za'Darius Smith, sources say. They tried to trade for him a few years ago, are in prime position to sign him now.

The Packers were big time players to begin day two. They also added fellow pass rushing smith, Preston Smith as well as former Bears safety Adrian Amos.
Other notable signings include Sheldon Richardson to the Browns on a 3-year deal and Dante Fowler Jr re-upping with the Rams on a one-year deal.
