A couple seasons ago, Eric Berry was without question the best safety in the NFL. Then he got injured. Now he’s unemployed. After two seasons in which he saw action in three games combined, the Chiefs cut him with $7.25 million coming up for guaranteed on Friday.

Berry made five Pro Bowls and was thrice named All Pro in seven seasons before his injury.

If Berry can get back to health, some team is going to get one of the best safeties this game has ever seen at the age of 30. If that happens, for the Raiders sake, you should hope it’s either them or not another team in the AFC West.
