Dwarfed in the news of the Oakland Raiders introducing their new superstar wide receiver Antonio Brown along with Trent Brown and Tyrell Williams, Kyler Murray held his Pro Day on Wednesday in Norman, Oklahoma.
However, Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock were not in attendance at Murray’s Pro Day.
This news could come as a surprise considering the recent buzz involving Oakland and the presumed number one quarterback in the 2019 NFL draft, but the no-show might just be a result of the Raiders’ busy few days in free agency and the recent abundance of press conferences.
It also must be noted that Oakland didn’t skip the Pro Day entirely. Offensive coordinator Greg Olson and special teams coach Rich Bissacia were in attendance to watch Murray complete drills, per the MMQB’s Albert Breer.
For those in Raider Nation who are all in on the idea of Murray ending up a Raider, the absence of Mayock and Gruden shouldn’t suggest a lack of interest toward Murray in the slightest.
The team has already met with Murray once at the scouting combine in February and still has plans to meet with Murray again in private before the draft according to Breer.
