Silver & Black Pridecast Ep 12: Rounding up Raiders first week of free agency

New, comments

Levi and Tyler go through the successes and concerns with the moves the Raiders have made so far this free agency period.

Alex Thayer

We just passed one week since the opening of free agency. Even before that buzzer rang, the Raiders were busy. They re-signed several players coming up for free agency, put tenders on restricted free agents, cut some players to clear cap space, made a couple trades, and signed a few players as well.

The most notable of all the moves the Raiders made wasn’t a free agent move at all. It was the trade that brought Antonio Brown to Oakland. Soon after they added a second deep threat option in Tyrell Williams and a third speedy receiver in JJ Nelson. What message does this send to Derek Carr?

Most of the moves they made came on the offensive side of the ball, but what of the defense? Much work was needed and much work is still to be done, so where do they stand and where do they go from here?

Those conversations and more in the latest episode of the Silver & Black Pridecast.
