Post-Burfict Counter Mock

Grudock has made alot of moves in the first couple weeks of free agency. They are filling holes quickly with tier-1 and tier-2 signings and this should effect anyone's Mock.. Here's a quick pull on what could happen now that moves have been made in a counter mock.

4: R1P4 CB BYRON MURPHY WASHINGTON

What?! This would be a shock pick. Or would it? PFF has Murphy ranked as the #6 overall pick in the entire draft and he would come in as a sure-fire CB1 opposite Conley, allowing Worley to play in the slot. Taking a premier position player, and the #1 player at his position of need is not a bad move, ever. You need to stop the AFC West passing attack, you need Corners! Lots of them.

My assumption is Bosa and Allen off the board. Q is a good player but I don't think he's much better than Hurst coming out of college, PFF agrees as their grades were close. One year of production scares me a bit, especially on the best D in the country and regardless Q is a rotational player. Murphy is clearly the #1 CB in the draft and is a perfect fit with our needs, plays all 3 downs. He would really solidify our DB group.

24: R1P24 EDGE RASHAN GARY MICHIGAN

Gary's was the #1 HS prospect in the country but his college production is not where it should be. But he has flashed and has all the tools to be NFL elite. He would be joining his old teammate that would absolutely motivate him to work his craft. PG loves versatile players as well and Gary can play all 4 DL positions, this guy might turn out to be a force.

I've been down on Gary for the production issues, but he's still a top ten prospect in most drafts. He does have the length, get off and motor you look for. His hands and technique are an issue but those can be taught. This would be great value at #24 - if his supporters are right and he puts it all together, he's All Pro material.

27: R1P27 C DALTON RISNER KANSAS STATE

This guy was a Senior Bowl stud and it just feels like he's going to wind up on the Raiders. He can start day one at RG and C backup and could succeed Hudson if he moves on after the final year of his contract. Dude is nasty and durable.

Risner is a stud and is perfect for what we need short term and long term. Take him here to get that 5th year option as he's going to start all 5 of those years.

35: R2P3 WR ANDY ISABELLA UMASS

Speed, speed and more speed. Another burner to add to the WR track team stable. He's a starting slot and another weapon in the return game. Was massively productive in college and is easily worth a high second round pick.

We need a slot and this kid is lightening. Seth Roberts is going bye-bye after camp.

106: R4P4 QB WILL GRIER WVU

Whoops... Grier likely won't fall this far, but in this Mock he does. Gruden gets his grinder to put pressure on Carr and perhaps send him packing in 2020. If Grier is gone, Brett Rypien might be the pick here.

Cutting AJ says Gruden will take a QB in this draft. Peterson is camp arm that might make the PS as a scout QB. Grier is a Gannon-esque smaller guy that is super accurate short-medium and has the production and moxie that Gruden likes. He needs to have a plan B if Carr shits the bed.

140: R5P2 EDGE JONATHAN LEDBETTER GEORGIA

A quality 4-3 EDGE player with size and upside. Kind of lost in the pack, but this kid could push to start year one. Raiders double-dip on EDGE players and will add more in FA.

Ledbetter is a bit of a project but he's has perfect size and is strong as an oxe. Had problems with alcohol early but has overcome to be team leader and could be a legit and versatile DE/DT rotational role player.

218: R7P4 RB MYLES GASKIN WASHINGTON

Again, another player that is likely not going to fall this far but a perfect RB for Gruden's offense, can run and catch equally well and had insane college numbers. Questions about his size and NFL durability push his stock down. But a legit, versatile and dangerous weapon if he can hold up in the big leagues.

Watch this guy's youtube cutups - he's a beast. Four straight 1200+ yards rushing, 57TD! and passing numbers to go along with it. Think a young Doug Martin, perhaps quicker and way more dangerous out of the backfield. He replaces DWashington in the rotation and might even start year one.

235: R7P21 DL KINGSLEY KEKE TEXAS A&M

Adding some more DL help, Keke had 7.5 sacks from all over the DL in 2018. When they said this DL class is deep, they weren't kidding. Keke would push EddieV and Jelly for a spot on the 53, at worst he can redshirt on the PS.

Keke is a good player. Another versatile and productive DL that will compete to make the 53 right away.
