The ripple effect of Le’Veon Bell signing with the Jets is coming to Oakland. With that addition, Isaiah Crowell was cut and he is headed to visit the Raiders.
Former #Jets RB and now free agent Isaiah Crowell is set to visit the #Raiders on Thursday, source said. Jon Gruden, in particular, is hoping to add him to the RB room.

There wasn’t much left on the free agent market at the running back position and the Raiders don’t currently have a starter on the team. When it was first reported he was likely to be cut, we asked if the Raiders should try to sign him and 69% (nice) of you said yes.

Crowell just a year ago had signed a 3-year, $12 million deal with the Jets, making him a cap casualty with the Bell signing.
The 26-year-old back has started 51 games in five seasons with the Browns and Jets. He has 3803 career rushing yards and 27 touchdowns. He has averaged 4.3 yards per carry in his career including a career high 4.8 yards per carry last season.
Both Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden have said that the decision on whether to bring back Marshawn Lynch for another season will depend on what happens in the draft. Adding Crowell would also send the Raiders into the draft feeling a lot better about the running back position, so they wouldn’t feel the need to reach for anyone.
