AAF Saturday game thread: Orlando Apollos vs. Memphis Express

Greetings, Raider Nation! Welcome to Week 8 of the AAF season. Today’s first game will feature the Orlando Apollos against Johnny Manziel and the Memphis Express. These two teams met in Week 3, with Orlando coming out on top 21-17. But the Express are a very different team now and are coming off a comeback win over Birmingham.

The Apollos went through a midseason rough patch after starting off undefeated, but demolished Atlanta last week 38-6 to get back to their winning ways. Orlando has 18 sacks on the year and Memphis has allowed 22 (the worst in the AAF) so the Apollos will look to rush the passer heavily this week.

That may be easier said than done when Manziel is under center, as he made some terrific plays with his legs in his first action with Memphis last week and proved to be just as elusive as ever. Can he step up and get even more playing time this week with Brandon Silvers also playing QB at a high level?

This game will be seen on TNT at 11 AM Pacific.
