It must be Friday because the Raiders are making moves. The latest is the signing of former Patriots and Falcons safety Jordan Richards.

The 5-11, 210-pounder was a second round pick by the Patriots out of Stanford in the 2015 NFL draft. He spent three years in New England appearing in 41 games and starting 7 before being traded to the Falcons for a conditional 2020 7th round pick.

For the Falcons last season, he started a career high 12 games, putting up 39 tackles and 3 passes defended.

Over his first four seasons, Richards has appeared in 59 contests and made 19 starts, compiling 77 tackles (60 solo), six passes defensed and two forced fumbles. In five postseason appearances, he has recorded five stops (three) as a rotational player on defense.

A native of Sacramento, Richards played four in 54 games and made 44 starts over his four years (2011-14) at Stanford, compiling 247 tackles, one sack, nine interceptions including one returned for a score, 24 passes defensed and five forced fumbles. As a senior in 2014, Richards was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team after posting 79 stops, three interceptions and five passes defended.
