Today the Raiders bolstered their receiving corps even further, announcing that they have signed former AAF receiver De’Mornay Pierson-El.

The 5’9”, 195-pound Pierson-El had a pretty good season for the offensively-challenged Salt Lake Stallions, racking up 414 receiving yards and a touchdown on 36 catches in eight games. His reception and yardage totals were both tops on the team. He spent 2018 on Washington’s practice squad and also with the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes.

Prior to that, Pierson-El was a four-year starter at Nebraska, collecting 1,309 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns as a Husker. In his freshman year, he was a dynamite punt and kick returner, amassing 743 return yards and three touchdowns. It’s possible that special teams is where his value lies for the Raiders.
