The season rests on this man (and not CARR?).

Yes Tom Cable we are looking at you!!!

Though many will argue about Carr or Gruden, its not them that have the most pressure toward the results of the season. We can argue that Carr sucks or is great. We can argue that Gruden is stuck in the past and that football has past him by or that it hasn't. The one thing we can not disagree with is that the oline did not play at a high level and that falls to Cable. We can argue the players and injury, we can argue the reasons, those things don't change Cables role.

Carr has shown that he can win when his line gives him time and gives the RB some lanes to run through. Gruden has shown he can win in this league with good teams that had good lines. Cable now has to prove he is an actual NFL offensive line coach. There are plenty of reference to his failings and few, if any, to his successes.

You see it all over the place #firecable or "why does cable still have a job, and my favorite "he must have some pictures of gruden". Most of us believe that the games are won and lost in the trenches, that the league is primarily a passing league. If we are right, we will only go as far as our oline takes us. From what we have heard kollon miller was a cable pick and though he played pretty decent for the first 3 games, before being injured, he still has a lot to prove. One would think that the oline moves were made with cables input, so he takes the responsibility for how it preforms.

If Tom Cables line performs at the required level it will give the entire team its best chance to win. If they perform at the required level it will answer a lot of the other questions regarding Carr and Gruden. Don't get me wrong i am not taking about wins and loses, i am talking the chance to actually win. If they play well and Carr doesn't that is on Carr. This "required level" is at least decent. It can not be a leaking sieve, it must give time for the deep routes to open up. the line cannot continue to let running backs get hit behind the line, they must create push and open holes in short yardage (especially on the goal line). They need to be way more consistent.

Tom Cable must step up and fix this oline. If he needs a new guard, go get him one. He must have this line show much improvement or even Tom Brady would have trouble winning behind it and even the best defense would struggle to keep the offense afloat.

TOM CABLE OR BUST? Crossing fingers.
