Chalk up another free agent addition for the Raiders following their rookie minicamp. Former Jets receiver Jalin Marshall signed with the team Tuesday according to his agent.
Most recently Marshall was in the now defunct Alliance of American Football with the Orlando Apollos.
Marshall originally went undrafted out of Ohio State in 2016. He played one season in the NFL with the New York Jets back in 2016, catching 14 passes for 162 yards and 2 touchdowns. In 2017 he was suspended four games for violating the league’s policy on performance enhancing drugs. Upon his return from suspension he was waived and signed to the Jets practice squad.
The 5-10, 200-pound receiver was out of football last season, opting to enter the AAF where he caught 26 passes for 364 yards and 3 touchdowns in eight games.
Oddly, he is the second receiver the Raiders have signed out of the AAF this offseason. De’Mornay Pierson-El was signed shortly after the league folded and released last week.
