With the addition of Richie Incognito, someone had to go. That guy was Chaz Green, who had spent the last four games of last season with the Raiders, making one start. He was brought back this offseason to compete for either the starting left guard job or a reserve swing guard position. But with Incognito stepping into the first team left guard job and Gabe Jackson entrenched at right guard, Green was buried on the depth chart.
The 2015 third round pick didn’t take long to find a new home. He was released on May 28 and less than a week later, he was suited up in Denver.
The 6-5, 318-pounder was drafted by the Cowboys as a tackle out of Florida, but could never get a foothold there, so he was tried at guard.
Reserve utility guard/tackle is where Green hopes he can make the squad in Denver where they have set starters at every line position — LT Garett Bolles, LG Dalton Risner, C Connor McGovern, RG Ronald Leary, and RT Ja’Wuan James.
