Add Madden 2020 to the list of those who clearly don’t see Clelin Ferrell as worthy of the 4th overall pick. The iconic video game put out their rookie ratings today. Ferrell’s rating is a 74 which is tied for 13th among rookies. And well below the rookie high of 80 given to Quinnen Williams
That’s also fourth among edge rushers alone behind Nick Bosa (78), Josh Allen (77), and Brian Burns (75). You could throw Ed Oliver in there as well. He scored a 79.
Seven rookies received a 74 Madden rating including fellow first round rookie, Josh Jacobs who was selected at 24 overall.
To find Johnathan Abram, who the team selected at 27 overall, you have to go much farther down and out of the 70s entirely. He received a rating of 69. That’s tied with fellow Raiders rookies Treyvon Mullen (40 overall) and Foster Moreau (4th round).
Fifth round pick Hunter Renfrow received a 70. Go figure that.
Here are all the Raiders rookie Madden ratings
1a. Clelin Ferrell - 74
1b. Josh Jacobs - 74
1c. Johnathan Abram - 69
2. Trayvon Mullen - 69
4a. Maxx Crosby - 67
4b. Isaiah Johnson - 67
4c. Foster Moreau - 69
5. Hunter Renfrow - 70
7. Quinton Bell - 61
Some players use these ratings as motivation. We’ll see if these Raiders rookies do it too.
