Antonio Brown miffed to not be rated 99 overall in Madden 20

NFL: Antonio Brown-Madden 19 Cover Athlete Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY

The four players who will be rated 99 OVR in the Madden 20 game at launch day have been released, and surprisingly last year’s cover athlete Antonio Brown is not amongst them. He had a little something to say about that today:

Leave it to the company that stuck Darth Vader into a lootbox and said that paying to open them would bring players a “sense of pride and accomplishment” to be stingy with their money. EA has been named the worst video game company in the world for several years running, but they make bank by re-skinning Madden 2004 every year so they can afford to be dickheads.

The four players rated 99 Overall this year are Aaron Donald, Khalil Mack, Bobby Wagner and DeAndre Hopkins. Wagner is an interesting addition to the list, but as the best middle linebacker in the league it’s hard to argue against him.

Judging from all we’ve seen from Brown this offseason, it doesn’t look like he’s lost a step from last year when he was rated 99 and was on the cover of the game. Even if he isn’t there at 99 now, he should be at some point early in the season when the game updates its ratings.
