If you’re looking for this week’s Raiders ‘home’ game in Oakland, you are about 2000 miles too far southwest. That’s because this week the Raiders make their home in Winnipeg, Canada where they face the Packers who are a far more manageable 700 miles northwest of their usual stomping grounds.
This is usually the best preseason game to watch because it’s the game in which the starters play into the third quarter. That probably won’t be the case for this one. Gruden sat his starters most of last year’s preseason and thus far he appears to be following a similar strategy. On top of that, he has expressed some concern over the field turf at the stadium in Winnipeg, so he may look to keep his starters off that field rather than risk injury.
But there’s still plenty to watch for Raiders fans. Namely, some pretty heated position battles still being waged.
Tune in to see.
