One of the truly heartbreaking moments of Cutdown Day this weekend was the Raiders’ cutting of standout WR Keelan Doss, an Alameda native who shined in the preseason. Surely, he would go claimed by another team and the Raiders would lose him forever, right?
Among the players not claimed off waivers: former first-round draft picks WR Laquon Treadwell, WR Josh Doctson, QB Paxton Lynch and G Josh Garnett, as well as CB Teez Tabor, RB Josh Adams, WR Keelan Doss and OLB Jachai Polite. They are all now free agents.

Not so much.
Doss, as a free agent who has passed through waivers, is now eligible to join the Oakland practice squad, along with every other young player the Raiders cut except one- tackle Justin Murray, who was claimed by the Cardinals and was the only player the Raiders cut who was claimed by another team.
The Oakland front office clearly has strong feelings about Doss, so look for him to join the 53-man roster in case of injuries to any receivers. The practice squad will come together throughout the day so watch for the final list later on.
