Well now here’s a head-scratcher. Josh Mauro was slated to be the Raiders’ starting defensive end, but he’s just been cut to make room for the team’s newest acquisition.
#Raiders waive DE Josh Mauro to make room for QB DeShone Kizer

This leaves us with two questions. First, are the Raiders seriously going into the season with four quarterbacks on the roster? Do they have a trade in the works for either Mike Glennon or Nathan Peterman, both of whom played pretty well in the preseason? It’s rare for a team to carry more than two QBs, let alone four.
Secondly, who is going to be the other starting DE across from Clelin Ferrell? Is it Maxx Crosby, Arden Key, or Benson Mayowa? Once again, defensive end depth has become an issue for Oakland, which only has the four guys I just mentioned at defensive end. Surely, something else is coming.
