In the Raiders’ Monday night opener, they took out the visiting Denver Broncos, winning 24-16 and never trailing in the game. In week two they have yet another AFC West rival coming to Oakland and the oddsmakers are predicting a very different result.
The Chiefs were one of the best teams in football last season, in part due to their second-year MVP quarterback Pat Mahomes. They are a very different animal to the Joe Flacco led Denver Broncos.
This week, the Chiefs come to town as 7.5-point favorites over the Raiders according to Topbet.eu.
Both teams are coming off wins in the opener. The Chiefs beat the Jaguars 40-26 in Jacksonville with Mahomes going off for 378 yards and 3 touchdowns and new running back LeSean McCoy carrying the ball ten times for 81 yards. All three of Mahomes’s touchdown passes went to Sammy Watkins who had 198 yards all his own.
That KC offense is potent. The Raiders were able to put up 24 points in their season opener, but it could take more than that to keep up with the Chiefs. After all, the Jaguars put up 26 points and still lost by two touchdowns.
As for the Raiders season win totals, it sat at an even 6 wins before the season and that’s where it remains.
