Many Raider fans found it puzzling that the Raiders kept four quarterbacks on the 53-man roster, but that’s no longer the case as Nathan Peterman has been placed on Injured Reserve.

There is no word yet on what the injury is, but this report from the Mercury News indicates Jon Gruden was aware of the injury prior to claiming DeShone Kizer off waivers from Green Bay.
Peterman was outstanding in the preseason, going 60/84 passing for 475 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in four games worth of work. Peterman may be given a designation to return, but that seems unlikely given the position he plays.
With a roster spot now open, we’re likely to see the official return of DE Josh Mauro at some point today, as he was cut yesterday to make room for Kizer.
