The Raiders’ roster is making a little more sense at this point. After carrying four quarterbacks and four linebackers yesterday, things are shaking out more reasonably. The Raiders are re-signing DE Josh Mauro and LB Kyle Wilber and placing CB Isaiah Johnson on IR along with QB Nathan Peterman.

Cutting Mauro left the Raiders with only four defensive ends, but it looks like that was just a procedural move to get DeShone Kizer on the roster. Placing Johnson, who suffered a head injury in the first preseason game against the Rams, on IR allows the team to bring back Wilber, who is a key linebacker backup and major special teams contributor.
Peterman’s IR stint is ostensibly due to an injured elbow, and there’s no word yet on whether he or Johnson will be designated to return this season.
