Raiders right guard Gabe Jackson not ready until after bye week and fill-in Jordan Devey lost for season with torn pectoral muscle

It’s Denzelle Good or bust at right guard.

Following the Raiders week four win over the Colts, head coach Jon Gruden revealed right guard Jordan Devey has torn his pectoral muscle and is done for the year.

This injury wouldn’t be a huge deal should Gabe Jackson have been ready to return from his torn MCL he suffered in training camp, but Jackson didn’t even make the trip as the Raiders go straight from Indianapolis to London for their game against the Bears.

After that game, the Raiders will head into their bye week and Jackson will begin preparing to return after that.

This leaves the starting right guard job to Denzelle Good. This isn’t Good’s first rodeo as he filled in for Jackson late last season. It’s good for the Raiders that they have a viable option, but it leaves them without much in the way of depth.

Their options for the utility interior backup on short notice are backup center Andre James and practice squad player Lester Cotton Sr. Both players are undrafted rookies.

Other potential options to bring include Jonathan Cooper and Denver Kirkland, both of whom spent time with the team in training camp and preseason.
