Here’s a bit of good news in the cesspit of misery that Raider fans have found themselves stuck in. According to Mike Garofalo, the Raiders did not give up on Alameda native receiver Keelan Doss after he decided yesterday to stay with the Jaguars.

Doss played hardball with the Raiders and they, being caught between a rock and a hard place, made him a much better offer. This isn’t a bad thing, because the Raiders suddenly have a lot of cap space to work with. Giving Doss an extra $800K isn’t going to hurt anything in the broad scheme of things.

So instead of bringing up Rico Gafford or Marcel Ateman, the Raiders elected to bring back a guy a lot of fans didn’t want them to cut anyway. He will be added to the Raiders’ 53-man roster, filling the spot vacated by Brown’s release.
