Greetings, Raider Nation! Tonight is a special night, because it’s the season-opening doubleheader of Monday Night Football! While the Raiders will be playing later on in the evening, this game is between the visiting Houston Texans and the New Orleans Saints, who narrowly missed the Super Bowl last year.
Houston has undergone plenty of changes since last season, losing RB Lamar Miller to injury and trading OLB JaDeveon Clowney to Seattle. Their offensive line is still dreadful, but they also traded for former Miami tackle Laremy Tunsil. Deshaun Watson looks to stay healthy and take the next step toward being considered an elite quarterback.
The Saints have had some heartbreaking playoff losses in the last few years, but they look like a complete and solid team. They are in first place in the NFC South right now by virtue of the other three teams in their division losing yesterday. They signed WR Michael Thomas to a long-term extension over the offseason and will be as explosive as ever. Can the Texans hang with them?
Watch tonight’s games starting at 4 PM Pacific on ESPN.
