Entering the season, there was a lot of pressure surrounding Derek Carr. Many people thought that this would be his make-or-break year, with the Raiders desperately hoping to get a great season out of him.
Well, he’s proving the haters wrong.
Entering their bye week, the Raiders are 3-2 and look like a playoff team. That’s largely due to the play of their quarterback. He has 1,442 passing yards (8th most in NFL) to go along with 11 touchdowns (6th most in NFL) and only one interception (tied for second fewest). In addition, his 73.1 completion percentage is the second best in the NFL and his 115.9 passer rating is the third best.
Not to get ahead of ourselves, but is Carr on pace for a potential MVP finish? If he can lead the Raiders back to the postseason and continue to put up these kind of numbers, he very well can make a strong case.
Alright Silver and Black Pride, time to vote.
What grade would you give Derek Carr through the first five games this season?
