It appears Las Vegas Raiders’ cornerback Damon Arnette is getting closer to playing again.

Arnette, the No. 19 overall draft pick back in April, tweeted on Tuesday that he has recovered from the coronavirus and that his broke thumb is healing.

According to the NFL transaction wire, there were no players activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday — but perhaps Arnette will come off the list Wednesday. He went on the list eight days ago.

Arnette isn’t ready to play, anyway. He is on the injured reserve with a broken thumb and has been out since after Week 3. He was expected to be out six to eight weeks. So, it’s possible Arnette can come back in a couple of weeks.

The Ohio State product has been a starter and he has shown he has the aggression and confidence to be a good cornerback in the NFL. Expect him to go back to being a starter when he is taken off the injured reserve.
