Once again, the Las Vegas Raiders are putting a player on the NFL’s reserve/COVID-19 list.
The team placed starting linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski on the list Wednesday. It is not known if he tested positive for the coronavirus or is a close contact to someone who did test positive. Either way, it likely means Kwiatkoski will miss Saturday night’s home game against the Miami Dolphins.
Most of the Las Vegas defense has been on the COVID-19 list at some point this season. Currently, rookie wide receiver Henry Ruggs III, cornerback Daryl Worley and safety Erik Harris are all also on the list. Raiders coach Jon Gruden said Tuesday he hopes Ruggs will be off the COVID list this week, but he is not sure of his status for the Miami game. The Raiders have gone one day since November 4 without a player on the COVID list. Cornerback Isaiah Johnson was taken off the list Wednesday, so he can play Saturday.
With Kwiatkoski likely out Saturday, Cory Littleton, Raekwon McMillan and Nicholas Morrow (but he didn’t practice Wednesday) will likely be the top linebackers against the Dolphins.
