After all he did to get on the field with the Las Vegas Raiders still in playoff contention, there was no way Derek Carr would miss the upcoming season finale at the Denver Broncos.

Las Vegas coach Jon Gruden said on Monday that Carr came out of Saturday night’s home loss to the Miami Dolphins healthy. Carr played in the game with a strained groin he suffered nine days earlier against the Los Angeles Chargers. There were questions as to if Carr would play against the Dolphins, but he practiced all last week and he didn’t miss a play against Miami.

Even though the 7-8 Raiders are simply trying to finish the season .500, Carr is getting the chance to play and that’s the right call by Gruden. Carr has had a good season and he is a gamer, he deserves to finish the slate.

Meanwhile, Gruden said on Monday that starting defensive end Clelin Ferrell is expected to miss his third straight game with a shoulder injury.

Gruden is hoping linebackers Nick Kwiatkoski and Nicholas Morrow, and defensive backs Daryl Worley and Erik Harris all will be able to play at Denver after stints on the NFL’s reserve/COViD-19 list.
