Raiders’ 2020 draft picks officially set

Now that the NFL has dispersed compensatory picks (the Raiders weren’t among the 15 teams to get one) the 2020 NFL draft order is in place.

Let’s look at the Raiders’ picks:

1^st Round, No. 12, 19.

3^rd Round, No. 80, 81, 91

4^th Round, No. 121

5^th Round, No. 159

My thoughts: The good news is the Raiders have five picks within the first 91 picks. The bad news is, they don’t have picks in three rounds, the second, sixth and seventh. The Raiders can use early picks to move up and down the draft to try to fill the holes.

But let’s focus on the five picks in the first three rounds. Whatever approach the Raiders take, they will get the opportunity to cash in during the draft for the second straight year under the Jon Gruden-Mike Mayock leadership structure.
