We’ve all heard how interested the Raiders are in Alabama wide receiver Henry Ruggs III.
Now the talk is coming from the player himself. Ruggs told ProFootballTalk that the Raiders are one of three teams that are “constantly” in contact him. Ruggs told the site that the 49ers and Broncos are the other two teams.
From #PFTPM, Alabama WR Henry Ruggs III says he has heard "constantly" from the @Raiders, @Broncos, and @49ers https://t.co/9Evj9rYqMV

The Raiders pick the highest of the three teams at No. 12, Ruggs explained. The 49ers pick 13th and the Broncos pick at 15.
Ruggs is considered one of the top three receiver prospects in a rich receiver draft, along with Crimson Tide teammate Jerry Jeudy and Oklahoma’s CeeDee Lamb. Peter King reported this week that Raiders’ coach Jon Gruden is high on Ruggs. That jibes with the reports that the Raiders most want a speed receiver.
Ruggs is a true burner with 4.27 speed.
If Gruden truly wants Ruggs, he will likely be able to get him. The fact that the Raiders are staying in close contact with Ruggs won’t end those rumors in the next two days.
Ruggs, of course, isn’t the only top prospect the Raiders are keeping close tabs on. I reported Monday that the team has been in close contact with Baylor receiver Denzel Mims in recent days.
It’s all a part of the process.
