We will have plenty of Raiders draft coverage tonight. This is where I’ll be from the start of the draft until the Raiders are on the clock.

I’ll be updating this post with pertinent information and analysis as we lead to the Raiders’ pick.

See you soon.

Pre-draft rumors

Hi everyone, let’s start rolling ...

  • The Sun Sentinel newspaper in Miami believes Utah State quarterback Jordan Love is going to be the Raiders’ first pick. Everything is possible, but I would be surprised.
  • More Gabe Jackson trade chatter is happening. This could take place as late as Saturday if the price tag is, indeed, low. It seems like the Raiders just want to shed a contract. Yannick Ngakoue money perhaps?

First round

We made it. But we still have to wait until the No. 3 pick for the real fun to start. For now the Raiders’ scheduled first pick is No. 12.

5:01 p.m: Hey, Peyton Manning with a Raider Nation shout out.

5:10 p.m.: Long term, I think Tua is a better prospect than Burrow. But I get the Bengals’ pick.

5:12 p.m.: 2022 draft reportedly will be in Vegas. See you there.

5:15 p.m.: Draft starts now. Adam Schefter says the Lions are planning to keep their pick. Interesting.

5:18 p.m.: The offers must have not been great. Okudah’s Raiders dream is over.

5:18 p.m.: This draft is now moving. Love it.

5:40 p.m.: Thomas is the first surprise. Simmons’ fall about to start?

5:50 p.m.: Draft gets very interesting here at No. 5. Miami is in a great spot and didn’t have to trade up.

5:55 p.m.: Tua is the Dolphins’ pick. All that Raiders talk can die now … until Jordan Love of course.

5:57 p.m.: This probably bums out the Chargers. Tua is better than Herbert I believe.

6:06 p.m.: Don’t love the Chargers’ pick. They have a good roster, though. But Herbert scares me.

6:07 p.m.: Three quarterbacks already. Wow. Jordan Love is going to get overdrafted.

6:10 p.m.: Simmons is falling. Just saying.

6:16 p.m.: There goes Simmons. Great value for the Cardinals.

6:17 p.m.: But the Cardinals were a candidate to take Lamb. So, that’s good.

6:22 p.m.: No trades yet. Weird.

6:23 p.m.: All three receivers and C.J. Henderson on board. Raiders can get one.

6:24 p.m.: Jaguars did Raiders a favor by taking Henderson at No. 9. All three receivers remain.

6:26 p.m.: One pick to go and all three receivers are there.

6:35 p.m.: It’s here. Take your pick, Raiders. I ’d take Lamb, be fine with Jeudy and disappointed in Ruggs.

6:40 p.m.: It’s Ruggs. Wow.

6:45 p.m.: I would have taken Lamb or Jeudy. We will see. Got to go write.
