The Las Vegas Raiders have a new speedster for the offense

Vegas, Henry. Vegas.

The Las Vegas Raiders have thrown it back to the days of thunder, choosing the NFL draft’s fastest player in wide receiver Henry Ruggs III with the 12th overall pick. Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden were the first team to take a receiver, choosing Ruggs to be their next great offensive weapon.

When you see what he’s capable of based on the film, you can’t deny that the Raiders have added a really interesting player. A player unlike any other on the roster right now.

Ruggs ran a 4.27 40-yard dash at the scouting combine and some would say that on another day he could have beat the 4.22 by John Ross a few years ago. Let’s hope that is the end of the comparisons to John Ross. Ruggs caught 46 passes for 741 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2018, and 40 catches for 746 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior last year. He was the number three option for Tua Tagovailoa but that was alongside some other very talented receivers.

He will be the most talented receiver in Las Vegas for Mayock and Gruden, but as to how that translates at the next level and what he’s able to produce remains to be seen. It will depend on many factors but one place you can feel comfortable is elite athleticism and rare talent. Ruggs is not John Ross, he’s Henry Ruggs.

So let’s celebrate the pick today with some Henry Ruggs vids! Enjoy!
