Mother’s Day has a special in the Raider Nation.
Every draft, Raiders’ Hall of Famer Willie Brown would announce a draft pick, and, he would say “Happy Mother’s Day.” It became a tradition all NFL draft fans looked forward to. It was a nod from Willie to his mother, his close friend, Carol Davis — the wife of the late Raiders’ owner Al Davis and the mother of current Raiders’ owner Mark Davis — and all the mothers out there.

Sadly, we lost Willie last October at the age of 79, but his NFL draft messages always live on.
