Who are the 10 most important players to the 2020 Raiders?

I’ve been creating some polls at Silver and Black Pride in order to find out who fans thought were the 10 most important players to the team next season only on both offense and defense. The offense, mostly the same starters as a year ago, was rather straightforward. The defense, more than half of which will be comprised of new starters, may have plenty of debate left.

So what happens when we look past offense and defense and simply want to know: Who are the 10 most important players to the 2020 Las Vegas Raiders?

As with all the other polls, this is not “What if you could get an elite season out of any player?” or “What if you could upgrade any position?” or “What position doing the best would be best for Jon Gruden and company?” It’s not that.

It’s what you expect from that player next season, how important his skills are to the team and position he plays, and how worried are you about the depth if he were not available.

Here is the Silver and Black Pride readers top-10 for offense:

1. Derek Carr, QB

2. Josh Jacobs, RB

3. Rodney Hudson, C

4. Darren Waller, TE

5. Henry Ruggs III, WR

6. Kolton Miller, LT

7. Trent Brown, RT

8. Hunter Renfrow, WR

9. Richie Incognito, LG

10. Tyrell Williams, WR

Here is the Silver and Black Pride readers top-10 for defense:

1. Cory Littleton, LB

2. Maxx Crosby, DE

3. Johnathan Abram, SS

4. Clelin Ferrell, DE

5. Trayvon Mullen, CB

6. Nick Kwiatkoski, LB

7. Maliek Collins, DT

8. Damon Arnette, CB

9. Maurice Hurst, DT

10. Prince Amukamara, CB

In order to make the overall top 10, I have no choice but to use the previous lists as a barometer. How can Derek Carr be number one on offense but not the top-ranked offensive player on the overall list? That wouldn’t make sense, so Josh Jacobs and Maxx Crosby couldn’t be eligible to be first overall.

They aren’t far behind though. Let’s see how the initial round of voting shakes out.
