Las Vegas will likely get him in the fold soon enough

The Las Vegas Raiders will sign cornerback Damon Arnette to a four-year, $13.4 million contract with a fifth-year option one day, but that day has not yet happened. As of July 23rd, Arnette is one of nine unsigned 2020 first round picks and with the start date of NFL training camps still up in the air, and Raiders owner Mark Davis even saying that there may not be a season, perhaps there is no rush.

Though they did sign Henry Ruggs III this week.

Arnette, seen working out in Las Vegas last month in the header photo, should sign soon. Last year there were four rookie first round picks who signed on this date or later, including Nick Bosa and Quinnen Williams, who signed on July 25th, 2019. Davis signed Ruggs, the 12th overall pick, to his rookie contract this week and the 19th overall pick would be the next logical step for general manager Mike Mayock.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow remains the biggest name in the draft and the biggest name unsigned, but he too will eventually put ink to paper. (The NFL doesn’t allow e-signatures.)

All first rounders will eventually and the news on Arnette could come shortly.
