With the Las Vegas Raiders and most NFL teams starting the training camp process on on Tuesday, there are still several free agents available on the open market.
Field Yates of ESPN tweeted a fairly impressive list of current free agents.
Notable unsigned free agents as training camps begin this week include:
— Field Yates (@FieldYates) July 27, 2020
▫️Jadeveon Clowney
▫️Everson Griffen
▫️Logan Ryan
▫️Devonta Freeman
▫️Larry Warford
▫️Eric Reid
▫️Darqueze Dennard
▫️Snacks Harrison
▫️Delanie Walker
▫️Dre Kirkpatrick
▫️Timmy Jernigan
Will the Raiders be players in this late free agent market now that teams will be together? You certainly can’t discount the possibility. The Raiders brought in more free agents than anybody this offseason, so you know Jon Gruden is always on the lookout. Surely they will consider it.
The biggest issues are the Raiders don’t have a lot of glaring needs and they don’t have much salary cap room.
If the Raiders do try to make a move, defensive end Jadeveon Clowney would probably be near the top. The Raiders have shown interest, but right now, the price isn’t right for a pairing.

The Raiders had some contact with cornerback Logan Ryan earlier in the offseason, but they have added veteran Prince Amukamara there, so the need has been lessened. If the Raiders do sign a cornerback — that probably only would happen if there is an injury — they could look at Darqueze Dennard and/or Dre Kirkpatrick. They both played in Cincinnati under Raiders’ defensive coordinator Paul Guenther.
Injuries (or if any player opts out due to the coronavirus pandemic) to any position could also cause the Raiders to pick from the remaining names in free agency and Yates notes, there are some decent possibilities out there.
Is there anyone on this list that you would like to see in the Silver and Black?
