The Raiders did a minor roster move on Saturday, announcing they had re-signed defensive end, Ade Aruna. If the name doesn’t sound too familiar, it’s because he has yet to suit up for the Raiders in a game.
He was signed by the team last year and joined the club’s practice squad ahead of their Week 17 game in 2019. Aruna, 6-foot-5 and 263 pounds, sounded as a reserve/future free agent at the end of last season.
Aruna was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings with the 218th pick (6th round) in the 2018 NFL Draft. His rookie season was spent on the reserve/injured list. He has yet to appear in an NFL game during his career. Hopefully he can get his shot and make his debut this year for the Raiders.
He played his college ball at Tulane. During his time there, he appeared in 44 games, racking up 107 tackles. Aruna had 19 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, four passes defended, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
