We all saw this coming, even Jon Gruden himself predicted it.
The NFL Network reported Tuesday afternoon the league has fined Gruden and New Orleans coach Sean Payton each $100,000 and the Raiders and Saints were fined $250,000 for the coach’s violating the NFL’s coronavirus guidelines.

That brings the total to $1.75 million in total fines for violations in Week 2.
During the Raiders’ 34-24 win Monday night, ESPN reported the same punishment was levied in Denver, San Francisco and Seattle. Both Gruden and Sean Payton were seen without masks often during the broadcast.
After the game, Gruden apologized and said he was trying his best with the mask. He also acknowledged having the coronavirus. Gruden had the virus in July. Tuesday, before the news of his fine broke, Gruden said he didn’t want to get into details of his bout with the coronavirus, but he did say “it wasn’t pleasant.” Payton has also had the coronavirus.
Last week, Gruden also struggled to keep his mask on in a win at Carolina. He said then he needed to do better with his mask during games. It will clearly be a priority for Gruden on Sunday at the New England Patriots.
