After initially thinking the injury wasn’t serious. the Raiders decided to put starting left guard Richie Incognito on the injured reserve with an Achilles injury. Yet, the hope is Incognito will return this season.
The #Raiders placed guard Richie Incognito on injured reserve, but he should return this season, per source. The Achilles isn't torn. This buys a few weeks to get it calmed down.

At the least, Incognito will be out until after the Week 6 bye. Thus, he will miss the Week 5 showdown at Kansas City. Incognito left the win over New Orleans on Monday night. Rookie, fourth-round pick John Simpson, replaced Incognito and played 69 snaps in his NFL debut. Simpson had his moments, but the Raiders feel like he can handle the job with Incognito out. Guard Patrick Omameh was promoted from the practice squad to take Incognito’s spot on the roster.
With Incognito out. the Raiders need to hope right tackle Trent Brown returns quickly. He has missed all but three snaps this season with a calf injury. Denzelle Good took his place.
The Raiders only conducted a walk-through Wednesday. but they released an injury report based on an estimation of health. Brown was classified as he did not practice. Good also didn’t practice (thumb/illness). Others who didn’t practice were running back Josh Jacobs (hip), linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski (pec), defensive end Carl Nassib (illness) and tight end Darren Waller (knee). Safety Johnathan Abram, who ran into a cart during Monday’s game was listed as a full practice participant.
I wouldn’t get too concerned about Jacobs’ and Waller’s injury status unless they don’t work Friday before heading to New England for Sunday’s game.
