One of the more interesting 2021 free agents will be Pittsburgh Steelers’ wide receiver JuJu Smith Schuster.
Could his free agent path lead to the Las Vegas Raiders? Well, if you listen to Smith-Schuster himself, yes, maybe it will.
He mentioned the Raiders as a possible landing spot in a recent social-media post. Smith-Schuster dropped the names of several teams, but it is clear Las Vegas in on his radar.
Of course, that means little if Smith-Schuster isn’t on the Raiders’ wish list. He certainly would make them better, but he is not going to be cheap and the Raiders aren’t going to be overly flush with free agent spending money this year. They have to be smart with their money and with the defense in much dire need of reinforcements than the offense, spending big on a receiver may be a luxury.
The Raiders may be better off trying to keep receiver Nelson Agholor and develop their young receivers than spending big on JuJu. But, clearly, he has interest in the Silver and Black.
