All eyes will be on the Detroit Lions to see how they handle their trade of quarterback Matthew Stafford this offseason.
Stafford’s pending trade will be one of the biggest stories in the NFL in the coming months and teams around the league will be interested.
Expect the Las Vegas Raiders to keep an eye on the situation. It’s very unlikely they will have interest in moving away from quarterback Derek Carr, however, getting information and knowledge is key for every team.
Stafford is a comparable player to Carr: Both are above-average starters, who would have a strong market; both have produced, both have thrown for more than 4,000 yards in three of the past five seasons.
The difference, though, is that Stafford is going to be 33 and Carr is turning 30 in 2021.

So, whatever the Lions can fetch in a trade (they’ll probably ask for a first-round pick), could be something the Raiders file away for the future, just in case.
Teams are searching for education for future scenarios and if the Raiders decide to move away from Carr at a later date, they can look at the Stafford trade as a guideline.
