A decision by the Seattle Seahawks is the gain of Las Vegas Raiders’ coach Jon Gruden and the franchise.

Waldron was chosen over several candidates for the Seattle job, including Raiders running backs coach Kirby Wilson. According to several reports, Wilson interviewed for the Seahawks’ offensive coordinator job last week.
With Waldron being selected for the job, that means Wilson will very likely remain as the Raiders’ running backs coach. Wilson is a well-respected position coach in the NFL and the Raiders love having him on the staff. Wilson’s running backs have produced well and the players respect him.
While the Seattle offensive coordinator job would have been good for Wilson, the Raiders have to be pleased to keep Wilson.
As of now, the Raiders have one known opening on the staff — tight end coach. Frank Smith recently took a promotion with the Los Angeles Chargers.
