Las Vegas Raiders’ star tight end Darren Waller is inactive for Sunday’s home game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
This basically came out of nowhere.
ESPN reported that Waller injured his ankle in practice on Friday. He was limited in practice, but he was not on the injury report. By Saturday, he was listed as questionable on the injury report. He worked pre-game Sunday and the final decision was made this morning.
Raiders’ TE Darren Waller, who was added to the injury report Saturday with an ankle issue, doesn't "feel great" and Las Vegas is not expected to know until pregame warmups whether he can play today against the Eagles.https://t.co/hNcxs38nqw

Waller has 33 catches for 378 yards and he has two touchdown catches this season. Foster Moreau will take Waller’s starting role. Expect the Raiders to throw to running back Kenyan Drake often against the Eagles with Waller out.
Matt Bushman, an undrafted rookie tight end, was elevated from the practice squad and he will be active Sunday for the first time. Saturday, third-string tight end Nick Bowers was put on the injured reserve, joining fellow tight end Derek Carrier on the injured reserve.
Defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson is active. He was questionable after missing the entire week of practice for family reasons.
The Raiders other inactive players are: third-string quarterback Nathan Peterman, cornerback Amik Robertson, running back Peyton Barber, defensive end Malcolm Koonce, and tackle Jackson Barton. Robertson is a healthy scratch, which isn’t great. Desmond Trufant, who was signed this week, is active.
