The Las Vegas Raiders will get a boost in their huge AFC West showdown on Monday night at the Los Angeles Chargers in the form of starting tailback Josh Jacobs.
The team made Jacobs active Monday for the game. He was listed as questionable with ankle and toe injuries on the injury report, yet he worked out Monday on the field and the team felt he was healed enough to play. Jacobs practiced on a limited basis last week.
Jacobs missed two games with the injuries. He had just 10 carries for 34 yards Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Raiders will likely use him in a rotation with Peyton Barber, who starred in Week 3, and Kenyan Drake. The Chargers have the worst ranked run defense in the NFL, they are allowing 170 yards a game on the ground.
Jacobs was the only player with an injury concern this week for the Raiders. Their inactive players were all coaches’ decisions. They are: Defensive end Malcolm Koonce, tackle Jackson Barton, tight end Nick Bowers and defensive tackle Damion Square.
Meanwhile, the Chargers put standout linebacker Kenneth Murray on the injured reserve Monday. He hurt his ankle at practice Saturday.
