We might as well stay on the Richard Sherman train.
On Wednesday, Las Vegas Raiders coach Jon Gruden made news by telling free agent defensive back Richard Sherman that the team is looking for a player like him — and Sherman responded that they will talk.
This pairing makes sense because Gruden loves veteran stars and Sherman played for new Las Vegas defensive coordinator Gus Bradley while with the Seattle Seahawks.
Now, it’s time to get you involved. I want to know if you think Sherman would be a good addition for Las Vegas in the 2021 offseason.
Like most free agents, there are pros and cons to a Sherman pursuit by the Raiders.
The pros include that he is still a good player and he would be a leader to a young secondary that needs an anchor and his history with Bradley would certainly help the coach as he begins his Raiders’ tenure.
But, the cons include the fact that Sherman will turn 33 next month, he has dealt with injuries and he probably won’t be cheap. The Raiders may get more bang for their buck elsewhere.
Still, signing a player like Sherman has to be considered because it’s a unique opportunity.
It’s up to you. You make the call. Take our poll and express the reasons why you do want Sherman in the Silver and Black or if you want to take a pass.
Thanks for playing along.
