The Las Vegas Raiders’ top pending free agent this offseason is wide receiver Nelson Agholor, who was a surprise dynamic addition in 2020.
It has been expected in NFL circles that Agholor will head back to the open market to gauge his value will be. Yet, I think there is a solid chance Agholor will return to the Raiders.
Let’s look at the reasons why:

It’s a crowded WR class:
There are a lot of wide receivers in this free-agent class. They include Kenny Golladay, A.J. Green, Allen Robinson, Chris Godwin, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Corey Davis, Curtis Samuel, Will Fuller and Marvin Jones. So, Agholor may not get what he was hoping for even though he had 48 catches and eight touchdowns in 2020.
Raiders value him:
The Raiders will likely try to keep Agholor from going to the market by making early offers. They want him back. In the end, his best deal may be with the team he is already with.

It’s probably the best move for him:
Sometimes players need to realize they are in the right place already. Agholor may be one of those players. He thrived with the Raiders after a shaky stay with the Philadelphia Eagles. Raiders coach Jon Gruden and Agholor have known each for several years as Tampa residents, and Agholor also has a great chemistry with Derek Carr. He may already be at his final NFL home.
Conclusion:
It only takes one team to value Agholor highly and reset his market, making it difficult for a return to the Raiders. But Agholor picked the Raiders last year and it ended up being a great decision. That should happen again this year.
