As the Las Vegas Raiders continue to shed salary, they may be putting themselves in position to find an impact defensive player next week in free agency.
Here’s a name to consider: Bud Dupree.
The Pittsburgh Steelers informed Dupree that they will allow him to hit free agency. Scouts whom I have talked to believe Dupree would be a great fit for the scheme of new Las Vegas defensive coordinator Gus Bradley. If the Raiders can get a premier pass rusher in free agency, they have to try to do it and fill holes when they can, especially since they now have needs on the offensive like in addition to on defense.
The athletic, speed rusher — whose 2020 season was cut short by an injury — had eight sacks in 11 games. He had 11.5 sacks in 2019. Keep an eye on him next week, he may just be a good fit.
