The free agent pickings are getting slim — as shown here on the NFL.com’s top 101 free agents — and there isn’t a lot of top talent left.
The Raiders, who have some salary cap room left but not a ton, still have work to do. Among their top needs are:
- Right tackle
- Free safety
- Cornerback
Let’s look at some good fits who are still on the market:

Xavier Woods:
He’s aruguably the best safety available. He isn’t premier, but he’s solid. The Raiders can probably sign him to a short-term deal and see what they get out of him. Malik Hooker of the Colts is still out there as well.
Richard Sherman:
Sherman has been connected to the Raiders for months and as long as he stays on the market, the possibility remains. He would fill the Raiders’ need for a veteran cornerback and, of course, he has played for new Las Vegas defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, in Seattle.

K.J. Wright:
The Raiders don’t have a huge need at linebacker, but they could always get better and Wright knows Bradley’s defense from their days in Seattle together. If other fits at need positions don’t develop, a Wright signing couldn’t hurt.
Mitchell Schwartz:
This is a wild one because he is coming off a serious injury and he may retire. But talent wise, Schwartz is one of the best free agents available and he would be a great right tackle option for the Raiders. It’s worth thinking about.

Casey Heyward:
He’s another former Bradley player and he will probably be cheaper than Sherman. This one could make some real sense as the Raiders look for a veteran cornerback.
CONCLUSION:
There are other fits as well, but there’s reason to think all of these players could fit with Las Vegas for various reasons.
