With free agency down to the dregs and the draft a month away, let’s look at the Las Vegas Raiders’ offensive positions and see where each stands at this point.
Remarkably, many spots on this unit appear to be completely settled in terms do the 53-man roster.
Let’s take a look:
Quarterback:
This room seems set with starter Derek Carr, backup Marcus Mariota (who restructured his deal last week) and third stringer Nathan Peterman, who has some guaranteed money. I don’t see the team carrying four quarterbacks on the 53-man roster. Perhaps they will put one on the practice squad, but I’m not sure you draft a quarterback with the practice squad immediately in mind. However, they may sign an undrafted rookie.

Running back:
The Kenyan Drake signing was one of the biggest surprises of the offseason (especially at his high price tag). With Josh Jacobs, Drake, Jalen Richard and Theo Riddick being re-signed, this group is also settled. Fullback Alec Ingold is a lock as well.
Wide receiver:
The Raiders are also crowded here after signing John Brown, Willie Snead and bringing back Zay Jones. They join Henry Ruggs III, Bryan Edwards and Hunter Renfrow — so there’s no room left here for additions.

Tight end:
The Raiders have Darren Waller, Foster Moreau (who they want to have more playing time in 2021) and they re-signed Derek Carrier. Perhaps they can add a low-level fourth tight ends at some point, but it’s not a priority.

Offensive line:
This is where the needs are and the Raiders will probably draft multiple offensive linemen. That’s what happens when a team trades 60 percent of its starting line as the Raiders traded right tackle Trent Brown (New England Patriots), guard Gabe Jackson (Seattle Seahawks) and star center Rodney Hudson (Arizona Cardinals). The Raiders need a starter to replace Brown and will likely draft one early. They could use young depth at guard. The center will be either the young Andre James or former Houston Texans’ starter Nick Martin, so the Raiders may not add a center.
Bottom line:
The only remaining drama here is on the offensive line as the rest of the offense appears set.
