There is a strong chance that the Las Vegas Raiders use their first round pick — by either trading up or down or keeping the No. 17 choice — on a right tackle that can immediately take over for Trent Brown, who was traded to the New England Patriots.
There are four realistic prospects who could fit the Raiders’ needs at right tackle.
This is your turn to let us know which right tackle you would like to see the Raiders draft.
Let’s look at the candidates:
- Northwestern’s Rashawn Slater
- Virginia Tech’s Christian Darrisaw
- USC”s Alijah Vera-Tucker
- Oklahoma State’s Teven Jenkins
Slater would likely require a trade up. If he falls, he would probably be the pick at No. 17.
I could see Darrisaw being a top-14 pick. If he gets to No. 17, he’d be a strong choice as well.
Vera-Tucker should be on the board for the Raiders and No. 17 and would be a solid choice if Slater and Darrisaw are taken.
Some scouts think Jenkins is a perfect fit for Tom Cable’s scheme. I think he will be on the board at No. 17 and he could be available even if the Raiders trade back a few spots.
Please take our poll. Thanks for playing along.
