With the NFL draft in 10 days, the Las Vegas Raiders continue to tinker with their veteran roster as they signed former Carolina Panthers cornerback Rasul Douglas on Monday.

Thus, the Raiders finally signed a veteran cornerback they wanted to add all offseason to enhance their young group at the position. While anything is possible, this seemingly takes the Raiders out of the mix for another veteran cornerback such as San Francisco 49ers’ free agent Richard Sherman, who has often been connected to Las Vegas.
Douglas will likely push second-year player Damon Arnette for a starting role. Arnette could also play inside. Douglas is mostly an outside cornerback.
Douglas played at West Virginia with Raiders’ safety Karl Joseph and linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski. Douglas was drafted in the third round by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017. He played three seasons for the Eagles. He spent the 2020 season with the Carolina Panthers and started 11 games.
He has started 29 games in four NFL seasons and has five career interceptions.
